CAHS LAX is a growing junior varsity and varsity athletic program at Classical Academy High School in San Diego, Ca that is developing student athletes into players of character who love and lead through the sport of lacrosse.

2026 USA Lacrosse Awards
Peyton Cantu, a 2027 goalie at Classical Academy High School in Escondido, California, has been named a 2026 USA Lacrosse Academic All-American, a distinction recognizing excellence both in the classroom and on the field. Carrying a 4.2 GPA while anchoring the Caimans' defense, he backed it up in 2026 with 47 caused turnovers, 26 ground balls, and a 65% save rate, commanding the crease and igniting fast breaks with equal parts athleticism and composure. The honor adds to a growing résumé that already includes a 2025 USA Lacrosse All-American selection and three straight First Team All-League nods in the Pacific San Diego league — marking Peyton as both a leader between the pipes and a model student-athlete.

2025 USA Lacrosse Awards
In 2025, we saw our starting varsity goalie Peyton Cantu receive USA Lacrosse All American honors and both Kaydan Lamb (attack) and Owen Ryder (face-off) receive USA Lacrosse Academic All American honors. Peyton (junior) and Kaydan (senior) will be returning for the 2026 season while Owen will be playing for UC San Diego.

Spring 2023 and 2024
We have seen tremendous growth in our student athletes, coaches, and school support. In Spring 2023 we saw one first team all-league for our girl's program (Isabella Cantu) and two for second team (Luisa Breda and Nora Mauseth). The boys had three first team all-league (Ethan Mauseth, Chase Mizel, and Noah Villafranca) and two for second team (Deangelo Pollard and Santana Silva). In Spring 2024, we exceeded expectations with three first-team all-league for both boys (Noah Villafranca, Owen Ryder, and Peyton Cantu) and girls (Isabella Cantu, Tessa Ferragamo, and Nora Mauseth), and the same for second team (Blaise Irwin, Adam Mace, and Chris Breda; Lucy Polito, Justine Batcheler, and Grace Stehly).

2024 USA Lacrosse Awards
In 2024, we saw Classical Academy High School senior Isabella Cantu secure the school's first-ever All-American award for any sport. She was a USA Lacrosse All-American, USA Lacrosse Academic All-America, and was the recipient of the coveted USA Lacrosse Jackie Pitts Award for her comprehensive approach to life and lacrosse in San Diego. She now attends San Diego State University at the Weber Honors College.
